Glasgow Barons ensembles perform throughout Govan's Window Wanderland for Govan Loves Christmas.
The Glasgow Barons Street Orchestra
Members of the Glasgow Barons Street Orchestra provide pop-up musical performances across Govan. Performing in Pirie Park, Riverside, St Saviours Primaries, the Coming Home Centre, the Preshal Trust, Amethyst and Old Toll Bars, and the Govan Cross Shopping Centre, the orchestra brings live music to the varied communities of Govan.

12 weeks of workshops with Jennifer Martin, P6 and S3 students from Pirie Park Primary and Govan High lead to a performance in collaboration with Glasgow Concert Halls.

Strings, Drums and Rap
A bold mash-up of African drumming, Govanite rapping and Warlock's Capriol Suite. How dare we! 8 weeks of drumming, rapping and caprioling at the African Arts Centre in Ibrox, led to this uniquely Govanite collaboration.

Govan Old Parish Church
In this new series of concerts the Glasgow Barons, conductor Paul MacAlindin and the orchestra fill Govan Old’s wonderful acoustic with a range of classical works accompanied by three new song sets about Govan’s heroines and heroes created in collaboration with the Govan Reminiscence Group.

Mary Barbour Statue Unveiling
The Glasgow Barons brass quartet supported Govan Allsorts Choir at the unveiling of local heroine Mary Barbour's statue, Govan Subway, International Women's Day, 2018. We performed Italian partisan song Bella Ciao and Mrs Barbour's Army by Alistair Hulett.

Govan High Composers 2017
A new workshop with the Glasgow Barons providing the National 5 composers at Govan High School the opportunity to compose for real instruments.
Working with Composer Jennifer Martin, Musicians Alex (Clarinet),Jonathan (Percussion) and Anthea (Bassoon),and Elaine Bonner, Principal Teacher of Music at Govan High School, the new works were performed in the school hall on the 5th December, along with Stravinsky's Octet.
This project was supported by The McGlashan Charitable Trust.
