Musicians in Exile began in summer 2018, bringing Glasgow’s asylum-seeking and refugee musicians together to make the music of their homelands. Since then, the group, facilitated by Jose Rojas, Aref Ghorbani, Calum Ingram and Ali Rahmani, has gone from strength to strength, performing regularly in Govan as well as The Glasgow MELA, Kelvingrove Bandstand, Refugee Festival Scotland, Edinburgh Fringe and The Steeple in Dundee. Winners of the 2019 National Diversity Award as Community Organisation for Race, Religion and Faith and the Voluntary Arts EPIC Award for Scotland, we have been working online, producing music videos since March 2020.
