Acclaimed American violinist Benjamin Shute brings his virtuosic artistry and deep historical insight to Govan Old Parish Church for this stunning lunchtime recital, part of the second edition of The Glasgow Barons Early Music Festival.

Renowned for his work on both modern and period instruments, Shute’s programme bridges the Baroque and Romantic eras – from expressive works by J.S. Bach, to a tender Brahms Romanze, all heard through his unique lens as both performer and scholar.

Benjamin Shute has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across North America, Europe, and Asia, and is a noted author and scholar on Baroque violin practice. He currently teaches at the University of St Andrews Music Centre, and is known for bringing scholarly rigour to emotionally resonant performances.
