This Friday the 16th October sees the third clyde.wav showcase event happening at Maslows Community Hub at 94 Langlands Rd in central Govan, 5 minutes from the subway. This series of free entry gigs began with a pilot at Govan Music Festival back in March, at Momo in Cessnock, before coming back with a bang in late August at Maslows Community Hub, where it enjoyed another hugely successful night. Clyde.wav aims to bring eclectic and unique artists into Govan, with a heavy leaning toward electronic and experimental sound, and it also seeks to bring a higher number of BIPOC and female musicians into the local live music ecosystem.
It’s a night for those who don’t want to (or can’t) go out to nightclubs in Glasgow, and want to experience left-field music in a cosy, atmospheric setting. THIS FRIDAY we have performance art/sound design from Adéráyó, folk experimentation from Optimo collaborator Isa Gordon, and a groove laden DJ set to close the night off from Luckybabe. This event is Free Entry, BYOB and we will be accepting donations on behalf of our partners at Maslows to continue all of the great work that they do.
We expect it to be busy this Friday, so come early if you wish to guarantee a space.
